Not Photogenic? How I Guide Your Poses During a Paris Photoshoot
Updated: 5 hours ago
"I'm not photogenic" is probably the sentence I hear most at the start of a session. Almost everyone says it, and almost everyone is surprised by their photos at the end. Being comfortable in front of a camera isn't a talent: it comes from being guided properly.
You don't need to know how to pose
My job isn't only to press the button. During the session, I tell you exactly where to stand, where to look and what to do with your hands. You don't have to think about it: you follow the directions and enjoy the walk.
Movement first, then portraits
I usually start with movement: walking together, holding hands, talking to each other. It breaks the ice and gives natural photos straight away. Once you're relaxed, we add a few more classic portraits.

Poses that work well for couples
Walking hand in hand, one of you looking back at the camera
Foreheads close together, eyes closed
A hug from behind with the Eiffel Tower in the background
The dip, for those who feel adventurous

Poses that work well for families
With children, I keep things playful: little races, swings in the air, jumping games. Kids don't need to stand still to get good photos, and parents don't have to worry about keeping everyone in line.

Solo travelers
For solo sessions, I give you small actions: adjusting your coat, looking at the view, walking toward me. It feels much more natural than standing still and smiling.
A few tips before your session
Get enough sleep and drink water, especially for sunrise sessions.
Wear clothes you feel good in. My guide on what to wear can help.
Tell me if you have a favorite side, or anything you're self-conscious about. I'll take it into account.
Laugh at yourselves: the best photos often come right after a joke.
The goal
Many of my clients have never done a photoshoot before. The goal is always the same: you have a good time in Paris, and you go home with photos where you recognize yourselves. Discover my couple photoshoots and family photoshoots, or check the prices.
