Paris Family Photographer & Photoshoot
Paris with the family is a lot to organize: jet lag, a packed itinerary, and kids who would rather run around than stand still for a photo. I'm Max, a Paris photographer with more than 10 years of experience, and I photograph families who want portraits in the most iconic places of the city. I choose the spot and the best time of day, I keep the kids busy and happy, and I edit every photo myself. All you have to do is enjoy the walk.

How a family photoshoot in Paris works
1. We plan it together
You tell me your travel dates, how many of you there are, the ages of the children and what you have in mind. I suggest the best place and time of day for your family, and we agree on a meeting point.
2. I run the session, you enjoy it
I keep it playful: little games, races, jumping, silly faces. I follow the kids' energy instead of forcing poses, and I talk to them directly, so you don't have to manage everyone. You don't need to know how to pose: I tell you where to stand and how to move.
3. Everyone gets a turn
I photograph the whole family, but also smaller combinations: mother and daughter, father and son, siblings, grandparents with their grandchildren, and a portrait of each family member.
4. Your gallery arrives within 5 working days
Your photos arrive in a private online gallery. I edit every one of them myself: natural colors, light correction and clean-up of small distractions. From the gallery you can also order prints, albums and frames.
What if my kids won't cooperate?
It's the question I hear before almost every family session, and the answer is simple: they don't need to cooperate, and they don't need to stand still. Kids who are moving, laughing and having fun give you the best photos. I wrote more about it in my guide to family photoshoots in Paris with kids.
Babies
We plan around naps and feeding, and keep the session calm.
Toddlers
Movement, short games and breaks when needed.
Kids
Challenges, races and silly faces between the nice shots.
Teenagers
A more relaxed, natural approach. They often end up loving their portraits.
Where to photograph your family in Paris
Families need space to move and a view worth stopping for. These are the places I suggest most often.
The Eiffel Tower and Trocadéro
The classic backdrop, with plenty of room for kids to run. Best early in the morning or late morning, when it's calmer. More on my Eiffel Tower photoshoot page.
The gardens around the Eiffel Tower
Lawns, fountains and paths where children can move freely, with the Tower in the background. See my Paris gardens photoshoot page.
The Louvre courtyards and the Tuileries Garden
Wide courtyards, the Pyramid and the long alleys of the Tuileries. Easy to combine with the Eiffel Tower in a two-hour session. See my Louvre photoshoot page.
Montmartre
Cobbled streets, stairs and city views, for families who like a more artistic Paris.

The best time of day for a family photoshoot in Paris
Late morning is often the easiest with kids and jet lag. Sunrise is perfect if your children are early risers, and the spots are almost empty. Families usually want the same late-morning slots, especially during school holidays, so send me your dates as early as you can. Evening sessions (after 5 PM) have their own rates: ask me for details.
Prices for a family photoshoot in Paris
Family sessions are for up to 5 people. Every session includes a private online gallery and photos edited by me.
30 minutes (day, before 5 PM): €160, 10 edited photos
1 hour, family of up to 5, 1 area: €300, 30 edited photos
2 hours, family of up to 5, 2 areas: €500, 45 edited photos
3 hours, private session, 3 areas: €700, 65 edited photos
Larger families: send me a message for a quote
Extra edited photo: €7
Additional 30 minutes on a session: €100
My advice: book one hour. With a family you need more photos, and one hour gives you 30 edited photos, three times more than a 30-minute session. It also gives young children time to warm up. Two hours let you combine two areas, for example the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. If bad weather is forecast, I first try to reschedule your session to another time or day. All the details are on the prices page.
Prefer a walk with a story? Try a photo tour
If it's your first time in Paris, a 1.5-hour walking photo tour through the history of the city is a nice alternative. For a family it's €400 with 40 edited photos. See my Paris photo tours.
What to wear and bring
Choose outfits that feel like your family, coordinated rather than matching. Skip busy patterns and big logos, and wear shoes everyone can walk in. Bring snacks and water (no colorful drinks before the photos!), a favorite toy or small comfort item, and a spare outfit for little ones. More tips in my guide on what to wear for a Paris photoshoot.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a family photographer cost in Paris?
A 30-minute session is €160 (10 edited photos). For a family I recommend 1 hour: €300 for a family of up to 5, 1 area and 30 edited photos. 2 hours are €500 (2 areas, 45 edited photos). A private 3-hour session with 3 areas is €700. Larger families: send me a message for a quote.
My kids won't stay still. Will the photos still be good?
Yes. I keep the session playful and photograph them in movement. Kids don't need to stand still for great photos.
How long should a family photoshoot in Paris last?
I recommend 1 hour. A 30-minute session works if you only have a short window, but one hour gives you three times more photos and gives young children time to warm up. Two hours let you combine two areas if your kids are a bit older.
How many people can be in the photos?
Family sessions are for up to 5 people. For a larger family or several generations, send me a message and I'll give you a quote.
Do you photograph babies and teenagers?
Yes, all ages. With babies we plan around naps and feeding and keep things calm. Teenagers get a more relaxed, natural approach, and they often end up loving their portraits.
When will I receive my photos?
Within 5 working days, in a private online gallery. I edit every photo myself. You can also order prints, albums and frames from the gallery.
What if it rains?
If bad weather is forecast, I first try to reschedule your session to another time or day. A refund is only possible if rescheduling isn't possible.
Where should we photograph our family in Paris?
It depends on your plans and on the ages of your children. The Eiffel Tower area and its gardens are my most popular choice because there's room for kids to move. Tell me your dates and I'll suggest the best option.
What time of day is best?
Late morning is often the easiest with kids and jet lag. Sunrise is perfect if your children are early risers.
