Eiffel Tower Proposal Photographer in Paris
The Eiffel Tower is the most popular place to propose in Paris, and for good reason. It's also busy, and the best spots aren't always the obvious ones. I'm Max, a Paris photographer with more than 10 years of experience, and I've photographed well over 100 proposals. Here's how I'd plan yours.
The best spots to propose at the Eiffel Tower
The banks of the Seine, my favorite
My first choice for a proposal. The quays along the river are calmer than the viewpoints above, and with the Seine right behind you and the Tower in the background, it's a very romantic setting. It's also much easier to keep the surprise when there's no crowd around you.
Trocadéro
The classic view, with the whole Tower in front of you. It's the busiest spot of all, so I recommend it early in the morning, when the esplanade is calm.
Bir-Hakeim bridge
The Tower seen through the arches of the bridge. A beautiful frame for the moment itself.
Champ de Mars
The lawns at the foot of the Tower. Relaxed and open, and easy to combine with couple photos afterwards.
When to propose at the Eiffel Tower
Early morning is my favorite: fewer people, soft light, and you're not proposing in the middle of a crowd. Golden hour, before sunset, gives warm, flattering light but more visitors. After dark, the Tower sparkles for five minutes at the start of every hour, a beautiful moment to time your proposal. More in my guide to night photoshoots at the Eiffel Tower.
How I keep it a surprise
I scout the spot before you arrive and take a position with a natural line of sight, somewhere that looks like part of the scenery. We agree on a simple signal so I know exactly when to shoot. If the spot is too crowded on the day, we move to a backup spot nearby that we chose in advance.
Prefer an easier option? Tell your partner you've booked a couple photoshoot, and propose during the session whenever it feels right.
After the proposal, take a few minutes to enjoy it. Then I guide you through relaxed photos of the two of you with the ring, around the Tower. You don't need to know how to pose.
Prices and what's included
An Eiffel Tower proposal is priced like a couple photoshoot, from €160 for 30 minutes during the day. I recommend 1 hour, so you have time after the proposal for the photos with the ring. Evening sessions after 5 PM are at the evening rate. I edit every photo myself, and your gallery arrives in a private online gallery within 5 working days. All prices are on my prices page.
Optional extras
A violinist playing your partner's favorite song, flowers, or a bottle of champagne with two glasses to toast right after. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll organize it with you.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the best place to propose at the Eiffel Tower?
My favorite is the banks of the Seine: calmer, very romantic, with the river behind you and the Tower in the background. For the classic view, Trocadéro early in the morning. Bir-Hakeim bridge and the Champ de Mars also work well. I'll suggest the best one for your dates and your partner.

Early morning for calm and soft light, golden hour for warm light, or after dark to time it with the Tower sparkling at the start of every hour.

It can be at midday and in summer. That's why I recommend early morning or the quays of the Seine, and why we always keep a backup spot nearby.
